Jaipur, July 30 (NationPress) Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has called upon all departments to promptly begin repairs of damaged and dilapidated government buildings to avert any unfortunate incidents.
He stressed the importance of accountability, stating that personal responsibility will be assigned in cases of any accidents resulting in loss of life due to inadequate building conditions.
During a high-level meeting at the Chief Minister's residence, CM Sharma directed officials to create a detailed list of government buildings, including schools and Anganwadi centres, built in the last six years.
A special committee at the state level will be established to evaluate the construction quality of these buildings, he mentioned.
Furthermore, he highlighted the necessity of securing approvals from the disaster management fund for the timely repair of damaged structures.
Priority must be given to buildings in rural areas, ensuring regular inspection, maintenance, and repair, he asserted.
CM Sharma encouraged government employees to report any signs of structural damage in their offices or public buildings to the appropriate authorities.
The state government has allocated Rs 50 crore in the 2025-26 budget specifically for the repair of 5,000 Anganwadi centres.
He mandated that inspections be conducted and urgent repairs be executed.
It was noted during the meeting that Anganwadi centres that were operating in unsafe buildings have already been moved to secure facilities, according to the Chief Minister.
CM Sharma also instructed various departments, such as Public Works, Education, Women and Child Development, Panchayati Raj, and Medical and Health, to immediately inspect all government buildings under their control.
He called for district-wise reports with comprehensive data and directed the acceleration of repair work.
Senior officials, including Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant, and representatives from relevant departments attended the meeting, providing updates on the condition and repair status of public buildings.
