New Delhi, Nov 1 (NationPress) Raj Kumar Arora, a distinguished officer from the 1990 batch of the Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS), officially took on the role of Financial Advisor for Defence Services this past Saturday, according to an official announcement.
In a related move, Vishvajit Sahay, also a 1990-batch officer of IDAS, has stepped in as the Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA), as stated in the official communication.
Arora, who now serves as the Financial Advisor for Defence Services, boasts extensive experience in the realms of defence acquisition, financial policy, accounting, auditing, budgeting, and personnel management.
Before this current role, he held the position of Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA). His prior responsibilities included significant roles within the Government of India, such as Additional Secretary in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Finance Manager (Air) in the Ministry of Defence’s Acquisition Wing, and Director in the Ministry of Finance.
Additionally, he has served as Member (Finance) in the former Ordnance Factory Board and as Integrated Financial Advisor across various Commands and field offices of the Defence Accounts Department.
Sahay, a proud alumnus of St. Stephen’s College at the University of Delhi, brings over three decades of expertise in defence finance and public administration, according to the statement.
His previous roles within the Government of India include Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser for the Department of Science and Technology, Joint Secretary in the Department of Heavy Industry, and Finance Manager (Acquisition Wing) in the Ministry of Defence. Within the Defence Accounts Department, he has played crucial roles such as Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Pensions) in Prayagraj, Joint CGDA, and Special CGDA.
Sahay has also represented India at various international training platforms, including Cambridge University in the UK and the George C. Marshall European Centre for Security Studies in Germany.
