Jaipur, Oct 31 (NationPress) Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has sanctioned a substantial amount of Rs 1,012 crore 92 lakh aimed at the repair and restoration of government properties that were adversely affected by recent floods and heavy rains throughout Rajasthan, as confirmed by an official statement.
This allocated sum will facilitate the reconstruction of 50,288 government buildings and public assets, which include roads, culverts, dams, anicuts, health centers, schools, and Anganwadi facilities.
As per the official announcement, the Chief Minister's directive is designed to guarantee the prompt restoration of vital public infrastructure and the resumption of government services disrupted by this natural disaster.
The funding includes significant allocations such as Rs 294 crore for repairing 14,212 roads and 1,161 culverts managed by the Public Works Department (PWD). Additionally, 902 properties under the Water Resources Department will be rehabilitated with Rs 19 crore, while 681 properties from the Medical Department will be restored with Rs 12.80 crore.
Notably, the Education Department is set to receive the largest portion of the funding, with Rs 487 crore designated for the restoration of 24,531 school buildings impacted by the floods.
Furthermore, 873 buildings under the Panchayati Raj Department will be rehabilitated at a cost of Rs 19.39 crore, and 7,911 Anganwadi buildings from the Women and Child Development Department will undergo repairs costing Rs 173 crore. Additionally, 17 properties of the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) are earmarked for immediate restoration.
The repair and restoration initiatives will span across 41 districts in the state. The most significant funding, Rs 60.57 crore, has been allocated for Jaipur district, followed by Rs 55.45 crore for Nagaur, Rs 51.75 crore for Jalore, Rs 51.15 crore for Tonk, Rs 42.18 crore for Bundi, Rs 42.09 crore for Jodhpur, Rs 40.88 crore for Udaipur, Rs 40.73 crore for Barmer, and Rs 39.41 crore for Kota.
Additional allocations have also been made for Bhilwara (Rs 38.27 crore), Rajsamand (Rs 29.18 crore), Sirohi (Rs 25.02 crore), Ajmer (Rs 25.74 crore), Churu (Rs 25.80 crore), and Baran (Rs 25.42 crore).
Other district-specific allocations include Rs 24.52 crore for Didwana-Kuchaman, Rs 11.28 crore for Phalodi, Rs 8.44 crore for Kotputli-Behror, Rs 12.15 crore for Pali, and Rs 19.79 crore for Bikaner, among others.
