Jaipur, Aug 16 (NationPress) Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde visited the tribal village of Baroda in the Salumber district on Saturday, participating in a night Chaupal to engage in open discussions with the local tribal populace.
The event commenced with a heartfelt reception by students from the Eklavya Model Residential School, who honored the Governor through traditional folk performances.
Seated on a charpoy, Governor Bagde keenly observed the culturally rich Gavari dance of Mewar, expressing profound interest in the traditional dramatic practices of the Bhil community.
During the Chaupal, he interacted with villagers and beneficiaries of various government welfare initiatives, motivating them to fully leverage the support offered.
He instructed the officials present to ensure that all government schemes are accessible to every eligible citizen.
In his address, Governor Bagde underscored the illustrious history of the area, stating, “The land of Mewar is the land of heroes. The tribal community was instrumental in supporting Maharana Pratap against the Mughals. Their contributions must always be remembered.”
Emphasizing the pivotal role of education, the Governor asserted that it is the sole pathway to genuine upliftment and the elimination of poverty.
“Do not hasten to marry off your children before they achieve higher education. Motivate and aid them in their educational pursuits. Through education, your children can aspire to become doctors, engineers, and even top officials,” he urged.
Quoting the Rajasthani saying, “Put Sikhave Palne” – which means a ‘child learns from the cradle’ – Bagde encouraged parents to prioritize learning from an early age.
He also urged families to fully utilize government-run residential schools and hostels, which offer free quality education and facilities to children from tribal and impoverished backgrounds.
