Did 70 Women in Rajasthan Secure Government Jobs with Fake Divorce Papers?

Jaipur, August 11 (NationPress) - The Rajasthan Special Operations Group (SOG) has uncovered a significant recruitment fraud where 70 women obtained government positions by presenting counterfeit divorce documentation.

SOG Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Paris Deshmukh confirmed the emergence of a forgery case concerning divorce certificates, with approximately 70 complaints already lodged.

"We will take action against all individuals found culpable following the investigation," he stated, noting that the number of suspects might increase as inquiries advance.

In a related matter, two FIRs have been filed against 121 individuals who acquired government roles using falsified papers. One FIR includes 72 names, while the other lists 49.

The SOG has also reached out to the Education Department, urging them to take departmental action against these individuals.

Last year, the Rajasthan government instructed all departments to verify the credentials of employees appointed between 2019 and 2024, including cross-checking educational qualifications, application forms, photographs, and signatures.

Following these directives, the Bikaner Directorate of Elementary Education established four-member investigation committees at the divisional tier.

These committees reviewed recruitment records from various divisions, including Bikaner, Churu, Jaipur, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Kota, Bharatpur, and Pali.

Their investigations exposed significant irregularities in the appointment of 121 teachers, resulting in two FIRs and the initiation of an SOG investigation.

DIG Deshmukh mentioned that the SOG helpline continues to receive intel regarding recruitment irregularities.

Based on these insights, Rajasthan Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant was asked to commence departmental investigations, prompting all departments to initiate parallel inquiries.

The Directorate of Elementary Education also conducted an investigation into appointments made through the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET) in 2018 and 2022.

This probe identified around 123 teachers suspected of acquiring jobs through deceitful means.

The information was relayed to the SOG, which has opened two separate cases regarding this matter.

The SOG is diligently pursuing all leads, including forged marital status documents, counterfeit educational certificates, and other fraudulent submissions aimed at circumventing eligibility standards.

Authorities indicate that further arrests are anticipated as the extent of the scam becomes clearer.
