Jaipur, July 15 (NationPress) Rajasthan's Principal Secretary of Mines, Geology, and Petroleum department, T. Ravikant, announced on Tuesday that the department will undergo a technological transformation to elevate operational efficiency and achieve superior outcomes through modern innovations.
During a virtual meeting with senior officials at the Secretariat, Ravikant stated that beyond standard computers, specialized workstations will be deployed in offices according to requirements, facilitating enhanced analysis of mineral sector data.
To boost mineral exploration at the field level, the department will provide cutting-edge equipment such as Brunton Compasses, Field GPS devices, Field XRF analysers, and geological hammers, he said.
These tools will assist geologists and field teams in executing more accurate and efficient surveys, Ravikant highlighted.
He pointed out that Rajasthan's Mines Department has positioned itself as a national frontrunner in the sector.
Ravikant noted that services within the department are being digitized progressively to enhance accessibility and efficiency.
In addition to the online approval of mining plans and issuance of no-dues, the department is striving to transition more services to a fully online format, he emphasized.
As of now, 79 mining plan approval cases have been submitted via the department's online platform, he added.
The department also intends to establish fixed timelines for various approval processes to guarantee timely execution, he explained.
Rajasthan Mines Department Director, Deepak Tanwar, remarked that equipping offices with essential resources will bolster speed, transparency, and service quality.
A dedicated online module has been created to optimize services, resulting in a noteworthy enhancement in work culture and conservation of time and public resources, Tanwar mentioned.
The virtual meeting was attended by Joint Secretary Ashu Chaudhary, Additional Director Mahesh Mathur, P.R. Ameta, M.P. Meena, Additional Director General Alok Prakash Jain, Gopalaram, Financial Advisor Girish Kachhara, State Mining Engineer N.S. Shaktiwat, Officer on Special Duty Shrikrishna Sharma, Solicitor General Secretariat Sunil Kumar Verma, Sanjay Saxena, and other senior departmental officials.
