New Delhi, Dec 2 (NationPress) A Special Court in Delhi has, on Tuesday, prolonged the NIA custody of Amir Rashid Ali, the individual linked to the Red Fort blast, by an additional seven days, as confirmed by a legal representative.

Ali was brought before the court for a closed-door session as his initial seven-day NIA custody, issued on November 26, came to an end, the legal counsel stated.

The NIA claims that Amir Rashid Ali is the registered owner of the white hatchback utilized in the November 10 explosion near the Red Fort.

The investigation agency accused Amir Rashid Ali of personally traveling to Delhi to acquire the vehicle involved in the terrorist attack.

On the previous Saturday, the court had also extended the NIA custody of four other suspects in the Delhi blast case for a further 10 days, citing the need for additional investigation time.

The four individuals include Dr Muzammil Shakeel, Dr Shaheen Saeed, Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay, and Dr Adeel Ahmed Rather.

Following the court's decision, the accused were transferred from Patiala House Court to the NIA headquarters for further questioning.

The car explosion that occurred on November 10 near Delhi's Red Fort resulted in the deaths of 13 individuals and left many others injured, prompting an extensive investigation that uncovered a sophisticated 'white-collar' terror network with links to Jaish-e-Mohammed.

Prior to the blast, several arrests had already been made across various states, as investigators began to compile evidence regarding an interstate terror module.

In the aftermath of the explosion, the NIA established that the incident was connected to previous arrests, leading to a series of new findings as the investigation progressed.

To date, the NIA has apprehended seven individuals in relation to the blast involving a Hyundai i20 driven by Dr Umar Muhammad, which detonated near the Lal Qila Metro station.

The explosion occurred around 6:52 p.m. in a Hyundai i20, resulting in mangled bodies and damaged vehicles strewn about the crowded area.

Dr Shakeel hails from Pulwama, Dr Rather is from Anantnag, Wagay is from Shopian (all in Jammu and Kashmir), and Dr Saeed is from Lucknow.

Investigators have indicated that these individuals played crucial roles in planning the attack that resulted in multiple fatalities and numerous injuries.
