Chennai, Jan 18 (NationPress) The Greater Chennai Traffic Police (GCTP) has issued a notice regarding significant traffic alterations and road closures due to the upcoming Republic Day festivities set for January 26. Full-dress rehearsals are planned for January 19, 21, and 23, leading to traffic limitations over four days, including the date of the Republic Day itself.

As per GCTP, Kamarajar Salai will be entirely shut to all vehicle movements starting from 6 a.m. on rehearsal days and on January 26. The closure will be from the Gandhi Statue to the War Memorial and will remain in effect until rehearsals or the main event conclude, expectedly around 9:30 a.m.

Commercial vehicles traveling from Adyar towards Parrys Corner via Kamarajar Salai will be rerouted at Greenways Point. They will have to take a detour through R.K.
