Mumbai, Sep 3 (NationPress) The Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, emphasized on Wednesday that the Maharashtra state government is resolute in its ambition to transform the state into a premier destination for global investors. He announced plans to develop new policies across various sectors, taking into account recommendations from Indian Foreign Service officers.

In dialogue with these officers, he highlighted the swift evolution of Maharashtra's infrastructure, its burgeoning investment prospects, and the state's strides on the global stage.

CM Fadnavis articulated that the vision of the government is to construct a framework that operates not merely as a 'state' but as a 'institution'. This approach aims to institutionalize governance, ensuring that the decisions and actions taken are deeply embedded within a permanent structure.

“Maharashtra is currently advancing infrastructure projects valued at Rs 10 lakh crore. These projects encompass highways, ports, airports, power initiatives, urban development, and water supply systems. With the development of the Vadhavan Port and the Samruddhi Highway, Maharashtra is set to transform the global supply chain. As the capacity of JNPT port dwindles, Vadhavan Port will serve as a vital alternative for the nation. The Samruddhi Highway will connect approximately 26 districts to this port, significantly lowering logistics expenses,” the Chief Minister stated.

He added that the nation’s inaugural multi-modal hub will emerge in the Vadhavan area, featuring a port, airport, bullet train, and comprehensive highway network.

A new urban center, dubbed 'Fourth Mumbai,' is being established in this region, alongside a University Township, Sports City, Medicity, and Innovation City being developed in Navi Mumbai.

On the topic of industrial investments, CM Fadnavis noted that Maharashtra contributes 30 percent of the nation’s industrial output. With new industrial hubs being established in Pune, Nagpur, Vidarbha, and Marathwada, the state is poised to dominate the national industrial landscape. He mentioned that a Defence manufacturing and solar hub will be established in Nagpur, while a steel hub will be launched in Gadchiroli, Vidarbha.

Discussing sustainable development, the Chief Minister asserted that by 2030, 52 percent of Maharashtra's energy consumption will derive from green sources. There is a strong focus on solar, wind, hydrogen, and pumped storage energy, with initiatives underway to transition public transport to renewable energy entirely.

Furthermore, projects like the Shaktipeeth Highway are being initiated to enhance spiritual and coastal tourism.
