Patna, Oct 7 (NationPress) The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has expressed significant concern regarding the recent transfer and reassignment of multiple administrative officials in Bihar, claiming that these actions stem from political interference by the state government.
During a gathering with Bihar’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Vinod Singh Gunjiyal on Tuesday, the RJD delegation presented a memorandum urging immediate action against what they characterized as politically motivated transfers.
As per the memorandum, numerous officials directly engaged in the electoral process have been relocated from their positions only 45 days after their appointments.
The party accused the government of implementing these transfers under political pressure, which could jeopardize the fairness of the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
The RJD called upon the Election Commission to step in and guarantee that administrative changes do not influence the electoral process.
Members of the INDIA Bloc, including the RJD, also requested that the CEO of Bihar reveal how many foreign infiltrators, if any, have been recorded in the final Special Intensive Revision (SIR) voter list.
During the discussion, leaders from the INDIA Bloc indicated that if no foreign infiltrators were found, the Election Commission of India (ECI) should take action against political figures and parties that frequently mention infiltrators in their campaign speeches.
This matter was previously addressed by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar during press conferences in Patna and New Delhi, where he stated that the relevant data is maintained by Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and District Magistrates (DMs).
Leaders pointed out that while Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have often referenced infiltrators in rallies, no ERO or DM has provided actual statistics regarding infiltrators identified or removed from the voter list during the SIR process.
Additionally, the INDIA Bloc representatives demanded stringent measures against personal attacks and inappropriate remarks made during the election campaign.
Attendees at the meeting included RJD MPs Sudhakar Singh and Abhay Kushwaha, party spokesperson Chittaranjan Gagan, and general secretary Mukund Singh.
Representatives from Congress, BJP, JD(U), CPI(ML), CPM, CPI, RLJP, LJP (Ram Vilas), and BSP were also present at the meeting.
The Bihar Assembly elections are set to take place in two phases - on November 6 and November 11, with vote counting scheduled for November 14 and the entire process concluding by November 16.
