New Delhi, Oct 8 (NationPress) Amid increasing speculation about potential divisions within the Mahagathbandhan regarding seat distribution for the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections, RJD spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari has alleviated worries, confidently stating that “all is well” within the coalition and asserting that the public has chosen to form Tejashwi's government in the state.
In a conversation with IANS on Wednesday, Tiwari addressed rumors of friction among partners, emphasizing, “All is well within the Mahagathbandhan. The seat-sharing agreements are being finalized, and in one or two days, the official announcement regarding seat allocation will be made. Everyone will receive appropriate recognition, and all parties will have their stake.”
The Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance), comprising the RJD, Congress, and Left parties, is gearing up to challenge the BJP-led NDA in the critical Bihar Assembly elections, set to occur in two phases on November 6 and 11, with results to be revealed on November 14.
Regarding the alliance's chief ministerial candidate, Tiwari stated, “The mood and sentiment of the public are extremely important for us in a democracy. The people have already made it clear that we will establish the Tejashwi government in Bihar.”
“An official announcement will come within a day or two,” he added.
Simultaneously, the RJD has expressed serious concerns about recent administrative changes in the state. During a meeting with Bihar’s Chief Electoral Officer Vinod Singh Gunjiyal on Tuesday, an RJD delegation submitted a memorandum protesting the transfer of several officials linked to the upcoming elections. The party claims that many of these officials were appointed just 45 days prior and were abruptly reassigned under alleged political pressure.
The memorandum accused the state government of attempting to manipulate the upcoming elections through politically motivated transfers. The RJD has urged the Election Commission of India (ECI) to intervene and ensure a fair electoral process.
Additionally, the INDIA bloc parties, including the RJD, are demanding transparency regarding the identification of foreign infiltrators in the final Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list. They have requested the CEO provide information on how many such entries, if any, were identified and removed.
As the countdown to elections commences and the model code of conduct is implemented, the political atmosphere in Bihar is rapidly intensifying.
The entire electoral process in Bihar is expected to conclude by November 16.
