Nagpur, March 30 (NationPress) Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale stated on Sunday that the RSS does not engage in opposition against anyone and is optimistic that those who currently oppose its initiatives will eventually join the organization.

He remarked that over the past century, the Sangh, as a movement for national revitalization, has evolved from a state of neglect and derision to one of curiosity and acceptance. “As the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh nears its centenary, there is a noticeable curiosity regarding how the Sangh views this significant milestone. It has been abundantly clear to the Sangh since its establishment that such milestones are not for celebration but serve as a chance for reflection and recommitment to our mission. This moment also allows us to honor the contributions of the great and revered figures who have guided this cause, along with the numerous Swayamsevaks and their families who have selflessly participated in this journey,” explained Hosabale.

Hosabale’s article on 'RSS at 100' was shared by Vishwa Samvad Kendra, Bharat, on X on Sunday to celebrate the birth anniversary of the Sangh's founder, Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, coinciding with the Varsh Pratipada - the inaugural day of the Hindu calendar.

This write-up is particularly significant as the RSS recently declared its intention to commemorate its centenary by hosting numerous events over the course of 12 months starting from Vijayadasami Day in 2025. The timing of this article is also pivotal as Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the RSS headquarters in Nagpur and paid homage at the memorials of Dr. Hedgewar and second RSS chief M.S. Golwalkar.

“While there is a tendency to view everything through a political lens, the Sangh remains dedicated to the cultural awakening of society and the establishment of a robust network of like-minded individuals and organizations. In recent years, the active inclusion of women in social transformation and the restoration of familial sanctity has been a primary focus for the Sangh. Approximately 10,000 events were organized across Bharat with the involvement of over 27 lakh individuals following the Sangh's call for a tri-centenary celebration of Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar - a testament to how we are collectively honoring our national icons. As the Sangh enters its centenary, it is determined to elevate its core mission of nation-building at the block and village levels,” stated Hosabale.

“The addition of 10,000 Shakhas in the past year, through strategic planning and execution, exemplifies our resolve and acceptance. Our objective of reaching every village and community remains an unfulfilled ambition and warrants introspection. The call for Pach-Parivartan -- our five-fold program for transformation -- will continue to be our focus in the years ahead. In expanding the Shakha network, the Sangh emphasizes the importance of civic responsibilities, an eco-friendly lifestyle, social harmony, familial values, and systemic transformation rooted in self-awareness, ensuring that everyone contributes to the broader goal of Param Vaibhavam Netum Etat Svarashtram -- elevating our nation to its utmost glory,” he added.

According to Hosabale, Sangh Swayamsevaks played a crucial role in restoring democracy through peaceful means during the tumultuous period of emergency when the Constitution was severely threatened. “The Sangh has transitioned from the concept of Shakha to engaging in service activities by harnessing the righteous strength of society and has made remarkable progress over these 99 years. Initiatives like the Ram Janmabhoomi movement have unified diverse sections and regions of Bharat for cultural liberation. From national security to border management, participatory governance to rural development, no aspect of national life remains untouched by the efforts of Sangh Swayamsevaks. The greatest reward is witnessing society stepping forward to partake in this systemic transformation,” he remarked.

“As the world confronts numerous challenges, from climate change to violent conflicts, Bharat’s ancient wisdom and experiential knowledge are uniquely positioned to offer solutions. This monumental yet necessary endeavor is achievable when every child of Bharat Mata recognizes their role and contributes to creating a domestic model that serves as an inspiration for others. Let us unite in this commitment to present a harmonious and organized Bharat, bringing the entire society together under the leadership of righteous individuals (Sajjan Shakti),” concluded Hosabale.
