Kurukshetra, Oct 3 (NationPress) The holy grounds of this significant town, which imparted the timeless teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, witnessed a remarkable renewal of faith in India's legal framework on Friday.
The event marked the launch of an exhibition focusing on three pivotal criminal laws -- Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam -- 2023, which were approved by Parliament in May 2023.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah officially opened the exhibition in Kurukshetra, where he observed a live demonstration of the laws' application.
He commended the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, describing him as a soft-spoken, dynamic, and visionary leader.
Shah praised Saini's unwavering commitment to realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a Viksit Bharat 2047 (Developed India 2047) in Haryana.
The event held profound symbolic importance, taking place near the revered Brahma Sarovar -- a globally recognized site for the annual Gita Jayanti festival. Here, Lord Krishna imparted the eternal lesson of karma to Arjuna -- “Karmanye vadhikaraste ma phaleshu kadachana.”
In line with this ethos, Kurukshetra has been fittingly selected to herald a transformative era in India’s criminal justice system.
During the occasion, Shah also inaugurated and laid the groundwork for various development projects worth crores across Haryana, addressing sectors like home affairs, cooperation, education, healthcare, and infrastructure. He regarded these initiatives as a symbolic Diwali gift to the citizens.
A special live demonstration showcased the rapid response of police to emergency calls made to 112 and the streamlined justice delivery process established by the new laws.
This entire sequence was displayed on large LED screens at the venue, granting the public a transparent view of the improved efficiency and accountability of the system.
Impressed by the exhibition and Haryana’s judicial infrastructure, Shah expressed optimism that the new laws will significantly enhance public confidence in the legal framework.
He also recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had previously lauded CM Saini and the state government’s proactive governance during his Mann Ki Baat program.
