Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday, 17 October marked two years of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government's third consecutive term in the state, announcing investment proposals worth ₹9,500 crore secured during his recent overseas visits to Sweden and Singapore. The proposals are expected to generate more than 11,000 jobs in Haryana.
Investment Proposals from Sweden and Singapore
Chief Minister Saini said his visit to Sweden yielded agreements in principle for investments worth ₹4,000 crore, following meetings with leading industrial companies. These investments are projected to create more than 11,000 new employment opportunities in the state.
Discussions held during his Singapore visit resulted in investment proposals totalling ₹5,500 crore, broken down across three sectors: ₹3,000 crore in healthcare and wellness, ₹1,500 crore in water treatment and management, and ₹1,000 crore in education.
Global Capability Centres and the 2027 Investors Summit
The state government also plans to develop Panchkula, Karnal, Hisar, Sonipat, and Rohtak as global capability centres and emerging hubs for technology-driven businesses, with support from Singaporean companies. During both overseas visits, investors and industrialists were invited to participate in the Happening Haryana Global Investors Summit 2027, scheduled for April 2027.
Make in Haryana Policy and Long-Term Targets
Saini highlighted the state's Make in Haryana Industrial Policy 2026 alongside 10 sector-specific policies, which collectively aim to attract ₹5 lakh crore in investments and create 10 lakh jobs over the next five years. He noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had provided Haryana with development projects worth more than ₹86,000 crore, and that the state had received over ₹7 lakh crore under various Central government schemes.
Notably, Saini also highlighted the launch of India's first hydrogen train project from Jind, and said Haryana had adopted a system for procuring all 24 crops at the minimum support price (MSP).
Farmer Support and Agricultural Measures
On the agriculture front, the Chief Minister said the government had provided ₹1,345 crore in bonuses at the rate of ₹2,000 per acre to farmers affected by delayed rainfall during the 2024 kharif season. Over the past two years, ₹7,882 crore had been transferred directly to farmers' bank accounts.
Under the price-difference compensation scheme for bajra, approximately 1.56 lakh farmers received ₹360 crore directly into their accounts. The government reiterated its commitment to procuring crops at MSP and supporting agricultural incomes.
Housing and Welfare Initiatives
Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 1.56 lakh houses have been provided to economically weaker families. The government also waived stamp duty on the registration of 100-square-yard plots in rural areas and 30-square-yard plots in urban areas under the Mukhyamantri Shahri Awas Yojana and Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Yojana. Addressing the media, Saini said the government was working with a commitment to public service, integrity, and accountability — and thanked the people of Haryana for their trust and support.
With the Happening Haryana Global Investors Summit 2027 on the horizon, the state's ability to convert these proposals into grounded investments and verifiable jobs will be closely watched.
