Will Shiv Sena-UBT Support India's Multi-Party Delegation to Expose Pakistan's Role in Pahalgam Attack?

New Delhi, May 16 (NationPress) The Shiv Sena-UBT has expressed its support for the Narendra Modi government’s initiative to dispatch a multi-party delegation of Members of Parliament (MPs) to influential global capitals. This delegation aims to articulate India’s stance regarding the recent Pahalgam terror incident and to garner international backing against cross-border terrorism.

In an interview with IANS, Shiv Sena-UBT representative Anand Dubey commended the move, highlighting it as indicative of a confident and assertive new India.

"This is the new India, the India of 2025. If anyone dares to challenge us, India will respond decisively by striking at the source of the threat. Our courageous Indian Army has demonstrated this through Operation Sindoor. We salute the Army for their bravery and for neutralizing a significant number of terrorists. This achievement is a source of national pride," he remarked.

Dubey emphasized that this operation deserves global recognition.

"The world needs to be informed about this. It's not solely the government's duty; it's a national imperative. Rahul Gandhi, as the Leader of the Opposition, has also requested a parliamentary session to honor the Army's valor," Dubey informed IANS.

He further highlighted the necessity of presenting a united front.

"The delegation should include MPs from all parties. We need to convey a message to the world that India will not be subjugated or intimidated. This is a new, fearless India. We must take cues from the boycotts against Turkey and Azerbaijan—nations can face repercussions if they dismiss India's concerns. Our populace holds power, numbers, and influence. We travel, we contribute, and when we withdraw, it will be noticed," he stated.

“From the outset, we have stated our support for the government and for India. This transcends politics. This nation belongs to all political parties. Election politics is distinct, but when it comes to the country, we are all Indians first. We want the world to hear India's tale of courage. The government should also consider the Opposition's suggestions and convene an all-party meeting as well as a special parliamentary session to discuss this comprehensively," he added.

Congress leader Irfan Ansari also voiced his support for the initiative.

"When it concerns India or the Constitution, we stand united. This is not about BJP or Congress—it's about the nation. Regrettably, the BJP frequently undermines constitutional principles. If we compare today's approach with that of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, she would have acted with decisiveness and clarity. It’s time for us to present a unified front on the international stage. It’s disheartening that we feel weakened when we should be unified and robust," he remarked.

The delegation, comprising 48 MPs from various parties, is scheduled to embark on its journey from May 22 to June 1. It will present evidence of Pakistan’s involvement in the Pahalgam attack and clarify the objectives of Operation Sindoor, which the government claims targeted only terror infrastructure in Pakistan-occupied territories without endangering civilians.

Sources indicate that the delegation will be spearheaded by Minister of Parliamentary and Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju, divided into eight groups of six MPs each. These delegations are expected to visit several global capitals to engage with foreign governments, legislators, and international organizations.

Notable participants anticipated to be part of this mission include Congress MPs Shashi Tharoor and Manish Tewari, Punjab MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney, and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, among others. Their responsibility will be to advocate for India’s position, counter Pakistani propaganda, and strengthen global support for India's stand on terrorism and regional security.

This initiative arises amid escalating efforts by Pakistan to internationalize the Kashmir issue, bolstered by previous remarks from US President Donald Trump. India has consistently maintained that the Kashmir matter is bilateral and rejects third-party intervention.

This marks the inaugural use of an all-party delegation of elected representatives by the Modi government for a diplomatic mission of this magnitude, indicating a new era of consensus-driven foreign policy and national security outreach.
