Amaravati, Oct 8 (NationPress) In a devastating incident, six workers lost their lives and several others sustained injuries due to a significant fire that erupted in a firecracker manufacturing facility located in Andhra Pradesh's Dr B. R. Ambedkar Konaseema district on Wednesday.
According to police reports, the blaze ignited at the Lakshmi Ganapathi Fireworks unit situated in Komaripalem village within the Rayavaram mandal during the afternoon hours.
The explosion was so powerful that it caused the structure of the firecracker unit to collapse. Emergency responders, including police and fire services, were promptly dispatched to conduct rescue operations.
Firefighters faced considerable challenges as they attempted to douse the flames, which spread rapidly due to the presence of volatile chemicals.
Tragically, six workers perished instantly as they became trapped in the inferno, while eight others suffered injuries.
