Chandigarh, April 25 (NationPress) President of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), Sukhbir Badal, declared on Friday that the party is unwavering in its commitment to uphold the principles established by the late leader and former Chief Minister of Punjab, Parkash Singh Badal. He vowed to make any necessary sacrifices to maintain communal harmony within Punjab.

During his speech at the second ‘barsi’ (death anniversary) of the revered Badal, which attracted thousands of attendees, the SAD President stated: "I am dedicated to adhering to Badal sahib’s soch and aspire to elevate Punjab to the status of the top state in the nation. I urge everyone present to embrace the former Chief Minister’s ideals and work tirelessly for the strengthening of SAD and the betterment of Punjab."

He elaborated on how the late CM epitomized the slogan of ‘Raj Nahi Sewa’, steering clear of religious politics, and garnered affection from all communities, earning the title of "CM of the masses".

Reflecting on the former Chief Minister’s commitment to skill development and youth employment, Sukhbir Badal remarked: "It brings great joy that the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has approved a proposal for a Skill Centre in Badal village.”

The NSDC advisor presented the approval letter to the SAD President, revealing that the center, named the S Parkash Singh Badal Skill India Centre, will offer specialized training to 2,000 students annually.

Senior SAD leader Balwinder Singh Bhunder reminisced about his long-standing association with Parkash Singh Badal, sharing anecdotes of the struggles and sacrifices the former Chief Minister made for the people. He highlighted the moment when the former CM risked his government’s stability to save Balwant Singh Rajoana from execution.
