Dharamsala, Dec 1 (NationPress) In response to the political criticisms from the main Opposition BJP regarding Sanatan Dharma, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu publicly chanted ‘Radhe-Radhe’ and ‘Ram-Ram’ slogans on Monday.

However, Sukhu accused the BJP of manufacturing controversy out of a lack of substantial public issues. The phrase “Radhe-Radhe” has recently garnered national attention following a viral clip featuring CM Sukhu, who instructed children to greet him with ‘namaskar’.

After enduring significant backlash on social media and fierce political criticism from the BJP, the Chief Minister proclaimed “Radhe-Radhe” and “Ram-Ram”.

This controversy originated last Friday when Sukhu interacted with a group of schoolchildren in Dharamsala. After the children touched his feet, they greeted him with “Radhe-Radhe”.

The Chief Minister then inquired, ‘Radhe-Radhe’ or ‘namaskar’? When the children repeated “Radhe-Radhe”, he asked why they chose that greeting.

A video of this encounter quickly went viral, inciting widespread criticism and trolling.

Prominent storyteller Devkinandan Maharaj also voiced objections to the Chief Minister’s comments, which rapidly circulated on social media.

The issue gained traction beyond Himachal Pradesh, becoming a national topic of discussion. In recent days, dialogues surrounding Sanatan culture have intensified across Himachal Pradesh, including regions like Una, Hamirpur, Mandi, and Shimla.

While the BJP has accused Congress of being “anti-Sanatan”, the Congress party vehemently denies these claims and defends its position. The situation has sparked sharp reactions, with many social media users questioning whether Congress leaders are now uncomfortable even with the greeting “Radhe-Radhe”.

Numerous posts expressed discontent over the Chief Minister questioning the children about their greeting. Meanwhile, CM Sukhu, during a walkathon organized by the Himachal Police against drug abuse in Dharamsala, along with ministers and MLAs, chanted “Radhe Radhe” and “Ram Ram”.

He stated that those who politicize Sanatan Dharma should refrain from lecturing others about it and emphasized his beliefs in Gauvardhan Pujan and Kanya Pujan.

“True Sanatan Dharma revolves around good deeds and aiding those in need,” he told the media.

In light of the ongoing controversy, the Chief Minister’s act of publicly greeting the community with “Radhe-Radhe” and “Ram-Ram” has become a focal point of political and social discourse throughout the state.
