Chandigarh, Dec 7 (NationPress) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini called on scientists to extend the reach of science beyond the confines of laboratories, aiming to ensure that its advantages benefit every individual in society.
"Science achieves genuine prosperity only when knowledge aids a farmer in boosting crop production, when research alleviates a patient’s ailments, and when innovation empowers entrepreneurs," the Chief Minister stated while addressing attendees on the second day of the four-day 11th India International Science Festival, taking place in Panchkula, close to here.
Earlier, CM Saini officially inaugurated the Students' Science and Technology Village at the festival, likening it to the New Nalanda of contemporary India.
During his visit, he also explored a science exhibition, showing significant interest in the latest advancements in science and technology.
Engaging with young people, students, and scientists, CM Saini emphasized that they are the generation poised to transform India into a developed nation.
He called upon all scientists, research institutions, industry stakeholders, the start-up community, and young innovators to collaborate in devising a science-driven development model that enhances the quality of life for all citizens, positions India as a global leader, and guarantees a sustainable and eco-friendly future for our planet.
CM Saini expressed his appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh for allowing Haryana to host this significant science festival for the second consecutive time.
He noted that over 40,000 participants from both India and abroad are participating in this four-day Science Mahakumbh.
The Chief Minister expressed his satisfaction that special attention has been given to youth, particularly from Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, and the northern and western states, ensuring that every region progresses together on the path of scientific advancement.
Reflecting on the Science Festival, CM Saini remarked that it represents a convergence of science, innovation, start-up energy, future technologies, and the aspirations of a New India.
He highlighted that the theme for this year’s festival, 'Science for Prosperity for a Self-Reliant India', is immensely pertinent.
He affirmed that Prime Minister Modi has committed to transforming India into a developed nation by 2047, and under his leadership, the nation is making unprecedented strides in science and technology.
