New Delhi, Nov 22 (NationPress) A 15-year-old boy from Kardampuri's Jyoti Nagar was fatally stabbed following a dispute between two groups, as reported by the Delhi Police on Saturday. The authorities are actively working to locate the suspects through CCTV footage, while local residents have expressed their frustration over the police's delayed response despite being informed of the altercation promptly.
The tragic event unfolded on Friday night when the boy was preparing to dine, and his friend, Aman, persuaded him to step outside.
According to the police, a report of the stabbing was received at PS Jyoti Nagar during the night of November 21-22. Upon arrival at the location behind Ambedkar College, Kardampuri, they discovered that the injured boy had already been transported to GTB Hospital, where medical staff pronounced him dead upon arrival.
The victim, a resident of Kardampuri, had been lured from his home by friends before being attacked just a short distance away. A case has been filed under Section 103(1) (murder), and investigations are in progress to identify the perpetrators using CCTV evidence.
Initial investigations revealed that a confrontation erupted during which the assailant stabbed the boy. Police indicated that there are indications of two suspects involved, one of whom is a minor.
The victim's body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, and forensic teams are gathering evidence from the crime scene. The investigation is still ongoing.
The boy's family claims he was deceived into leaving his home.
His mother recounted to IANS that her son was at home when Aman insisted on taking him outside.
"I cautioned them against taking my son, but they left anyway, locking my door from the outside. Within minutes, I heard about a confrontation and began banging on the door until someone informed me that my son had been stabbed. I seek justice. I am unaware of who was involved; only Aman can provide the details," she stated.
A neighbor noted that the boy had been taken moments before dinner and criticized the police for their tardiness in responding, despite receiving an early alert.
The neighbor told IANS, "That night, he was about to have his dinner when his friend Aman came and took him away. His mother rushed outside immediately, but by then, he had already been taken. They killed him, and despite calls made to the police, they arrived very late. The situation regarding crime is dire, and the police need to address this issue."
The police are actively investigating the incident. Further updates are anticipated.
