The party's Central Election Committee has approved Deepak Reddy's name from a shortlist of three suggested by the state unit.
The candidates put forward were Deepak Reddy, Juturu Keerthi Reddy, and Veerapaneni Padma, who were recommended to the central party leadership.
This will mark Deepak Reddy's second consecutive election as the BJP candidate for Jubilee Hills, having previously finished third in the 2023 elections.
In that election, Maganti Gopinath of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) defeated former Indian cricket captain and Congress candidate Mohammed Azharuddin by a margin of 16,337 votes, securing the seat for a third consecutive term.
In a competitive race, Gopinath garnered 80,549 votes, while Azharuddin received 64,212 votes, with Deepak Reddy placing third with 25,866 votes.
The passing of Gopinath in June this year prompted the need for a by-election, with the BRS nominating Gopinath's wife, Maganti Sunitha, as their candidate.
The ruling Congress party has chosen Naveen Yadav as its representative for the contest.
According to a schedule released by the Election Commission of India, the official notification for the by-election was issued on October 13.
