Hyderabad, Sep 22 (NationPress) The government of Telangana revealed on Monday that employees of the state-run Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) will receive a bonus totaling Rs 819 crore for the upcoming Dussehra festival.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, presented this bonus as a festive gift for the company’s 71,000 employees.
The bonus represents 34 percent of the company’s profits, amounting to Rs 819 crore, which is Rs 23 crore more than the previous year's bonus.
This year, each of the 41,000 regular employees will receive Rs 1,95,610, while the 30,000 contract workers will each be given Rs 5,500.
Last year, regular employees received Rs 1.90 lakh and contract workers Rs 5,000.
Deputy Chief Minister Vikramarka noted that the company reported a profit of Rs 6,394 crore for the fiscal year 2024-25. After allocating Rs 4,034 crore for future expansion and investments, the net profit stood at Rs 2,360 crore. A total of 34 percent of this has been designated for employee bonuses.
For the second year in a row, the state government has provided bonuses for contract workers, marking a historic first under the current administration.
The Chief Minister also assured employees that they would receive bonuses for Deepawali.
He emphasized the significant role that Singareni workers played in the formation of Telangana, promising ongoing recognition of their contributions to the Telangana movement.
Commending the employees for their efforts to boost profitability, the Chief Minister announced an increase in their share of profits.
He assured that the government would bolster Singareni to ensure its competitiveness against private companies.
Furthermore, he urged employees to ensure that any mines leased to private entities are also allocated to Singareni.
He warned that increasing private participation could jeopardize the future of Singareni.
CM Revanth Reddy declared that the state government would engage with the Centre to address these concerns.
