Hyderabad, Sep 16 (NationPress) A student who tragically lost both his legs after being forcibly ejected from a moving train by miscreants in Rajasthan last year, met with Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday to express his heartfelt gratitude for the provision of prosthetic limbs.
Gundeti Rahul, hailing from Pulakurthi village in Warangal District, along with his family, conveyed their sincere appreciation to the Chief Minister.
Rahul was en route to Kota, Rajasthan, preparing for the IIT entrance examination scheduled for November 2, 2024, when he suffered the horrific incident that resulted in the amputation of both legs.
Thanks to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund, the government has supported his treatment and facilitated the acquisition of artificial limbs, allowing him to regain mobility. Rahul, deeply touched by the assistance, thanked the Chief Minister for his support.
The government allocated Rs 10 lakh for his medical care. At the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) in Hyderabad, Rahul has been fitted with advanced prosthetic limbs, enabling him to walk again.
In a separate event, the Chief Minister, alongside State ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Adluri Laxman, distributed musical instruments to visually impaired students.
Under the guidance of the Karimnagar District Welfare Department, specialized music training has been provided to visually impaired students by the district administration. During the event, the students performed songs in the presence of the Chief Minister.
A CD featuring the students' performances was officially launched by CM Revanth Reddy and accompanying ministers. The Chief Minister also commended Karimnagar District Collector Pamela Satpathy for her initiative in launching this empowering program for visually impaired students.
MP Anil Kumar Yadav and Greater Hyderabad Mayor Gadwal Vijayalaxmi were also in attendance.
Additionally, delegates from Telangana who participated in the 7th All India Prison Duty Meet–2025 paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister congratulated the medalists from the 7th All India Prison Duty Meet–2025. Competing against teams from various states, Telangana earned a total of 28 medals (21 Gold, 4 Silver, and 3 Bronze) out of 133 medals awarded.
