Gumla (Jharkhand), Nov 17 (NationPress) In an alarming event, the Jharkhand Police have apprehended three young men for their alleged involvement in the gangrape of two minor sisters in Gumla district, authorities confirmed on Monday.
The arrests resulted from a thorough operation led by a specialized team under the direction of the Gumla Superintendent of Police, and the suspects have since been placed in judicial custody.
The individuals taken into custody have been named as Vishwas Oraon (19), Birbal Oraon (21), and Prakash Oraon (19).
After completing necessary medical evaluations and legal procedures, they were transferred to the Gumla jail. Police are actively pursuing the remaining suspects, who remain at large.
The incident occurred late Friday night when the two sisters, who live in the Sisai police station area, were walking home after attending a cultural event.
