The declaration of Tamil Nadu Class 12 (Plus-Two) public examination results is likely to be delayed, as the state government transition following the recent Assembly election results has stalled the formal approval process, according to sources in the School Education Department and the Directorate of Government Examinations. Officials confirmed on 6 May that all technical preparations have been completed, but the necessary government clearance is yet to be obtained.
Examinations and Evaluation: What Has Been Completed
The Higher Secondary public examinations were conducted across Tamil Nadu from 2 March to 26 March, with nearly eight lakh students appearing statewide. The valuation of answer sheets was carried out between 6 April and 20 April, and students' marks have already been uploaded to the official examination portal.
Officials had initially planned to release the results on 8 May, a date that had been publicly announced. However, that deadline has now been pushed back pending political and administrative developments.
Why the Results Are Being Held Back
The core reason for the delay is procedural: the formal approval from the state government is mandatory before results can be officially published.
