This heartbreaking incident follows another on June 7, when a helicopter heading to Kedarnath from Badasu helipad faced a technical issue mid-air.
The helicopter, carrying five passengers, encountered a malfunction just two meters above the ground. The alert pilot successfully performed an emergency landing on the Rudraprayag-Gaurikund highway, just below the helipad.
Although the tail of the helicopter sustained damage and fell on a parked car, while rotor blades impacted a nearby shop, there were no pedestrians or vehicles in the vicinity at the time, averting further injuries.
The pilot suffered a back injury and was promptly taken to a hospital before being transferred to a higher medical facility. All passengers remained unharmed.
