Agartala, July 15 (NationPress) The government of Tripura has officially announced its intention to hire 1,615 graduate and post-graduate teachers in response to the pressing need for educators in state-run schools, as stated by a minister following a cabinet meeting.
Among the 1,615 newly approved positions, there will be 700 Graduate Teachers (GT) and 915 Post-Graduate Teachers (PGT) designated for Class-11 and Class-12.
In a press briefing, Tourism and Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, serving as the government spokesperson, conveyed that the council of ministers convened under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Manik Saha on Tuesday to endorse the hiring of 915 PGTs and 700 GTs for Classes 9 and 10 to tackle the teacher shortage.
The Chief Minister later shared on X: “The state cabinet has sanctioned the recruitment of 700 Graduate Teachers (GT) to bolster our education system and guarantee quality education for everyone. We are dedicated to creating job opportunities and striving for a Shrestha (best) Tripura.”
“This is a significant advancement for secondary education in Tripura! The state cabinet has ratified the hiring of 915 Post Graduate Teachers (PGT) for Classes 11 and 12 statewide. This pivotal initiative will assist in addressing the deficit of qualified teachers and elevate the educational standards for our students,” stated Saha, who oversees the elementary and secondary education sectors.
Recently, the Chief Minister introduced the ‘Tripura School Quality Assessment and Accreditation Framework-TSQAAF’.
Saha mentioned that through the TSQAAF evaluation process, the educational standards of schools will be assessed, allowing for appropriate ranking.
The Chief Minister emphasized on X, “Education transcends mere formal certification; it plays a crucial role in nurturing moral values in life.”
“Tripura has already made substantial strides in executing the National Education Policy. The School Education Department is diligently working to foster a healthy, competitive framework, transforming each school into a hub of excellence,” he added.
