Two Terror Associates Captured with AK-47s in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, Dec 5 (NationPress) Two terror associates were apprehended on Thursday with AK-47 rifles in the Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to officials, the security forces detained two individuals identified as Manzoor Ahmad Bhat from Nipora village and Altaf Ahmad Lone from Zadoora, from whom arms and ammunition were seized.
“The recovery occurred in the lower Munda region of Qazigund tehsil, where two AK-47 rifles, four magazines, and several rounds of ammunition were confiscated. A case has been filed against the detained individuals, and further inquiries are in progress,” officials reported.
In response to recent terrorist activities, security forces have launched a vigorous anti-terror initiative throughout the union territory, aiming to dismantle the network of terrorists, their over-ground workers (OGWs), and supporters in Jammu and Kashmir.
This campaign was prompted by a series of heinous attacks against the Army, police forces, and civilians.
On October 20, two terrorists opened fire indiscriminately at a workers' camp belonging to an infrastructure company in the Gagangir area of Ganderbal district, resulting in the deaths of seven individuals, including six non-local workers and a local doctor.
Subsequently, on October 24, terrorists ambushed an Army vehicle in Botapathri, Gulmarg, killing three soldiers and two civilian porters.
On November 2, a grenade was thrown at the crowded Sunday Market near the tourist reception center (TRC) in Srinagar, leading to the death of a 42-year-old woman and injuring nine other civilians.
Security forces believe that terror handlers from across the border have become increasingly impatient due to the peaceful and participatory nature of the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
Intelligence reports suggest that these handlers are exerting every effort to make a final push for terrorism in the region, while the security forces remain fully equipped to confront this challenge.
