Itanagar, Jan 10 (NationPress) The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lt. General K.T. He highlighted the necessity for cleanliness, orderliness, and aesthetic improvements in all regions governed by the Municipal Corporation.
The Governor remarked that well-preserved public areas symbolize civic pride and capable administration, urging civic bodies to ensure systematic maintenance of urban infrastructure to foster a clean, organized, and citizen-friendly atmosphere.
On the same day, Itanagar Municipal Corporation Corporator Gora Lotak met with the Governor at Lok Bhavan, discussing various local matters. Lotak sought the Governor’s support for comprehensive development within his ward, particularly since Lok Bhavan is situated in his jurisdiction. He informed the Governor about the challenges his area faces, including issues of cleanliness, waste management, hygiene, and the status of both public and private infrastructures.
Extending his congratulations to Lotak on his electoral win, the Governor encouraged him to dedicate himself to public service and work diligently for the welfare of his ward's residents.
Lt. General Parnaik (Retd) pointed out that since Lok Bhavan resides in Lotak's ward, it should set exemplary standards in cleanliness, urban planning, and civic responsibility, serving as a model for other wards within the Itanagar Municipal Corporation. He reiterated the significance of urban governance in enhancing the quality of life, stressing the need for cleanliness, orderliness, and aesthetic improvements throughout the Municipal Corporation.
Moreover, he urged a participatory and citizen-centered approach, advising all Corporators to engage in avenue plantation efforts in collaboration with the Department of Environment and Forests. He highlighted that such green initiatives would improve the city’s appeal while contributing to environmental sustainability and better air quality. The Governor also encouraged Corporators to act as social facilitators, fostering community engagement, promoting ownership, and motivating residents to take an active role in cleanliness, conservation, and developmental activities.
In a separate note, the Governor conveyed his heartfelt greetings to the people of Arunachal Pradesh and especially the Hrusso community of East Kameng district, celebrating the Sarok Festival. He expressed that festivals and traditional ceremonies are the essence of human culture, reflecting collective wisdom, values, and lifestyles preserved by indigenous communities over generations.
“Such celebrations unify people across generations, reinforcing bonds of unity, respect, and social harmony. Sarok is a vibrant manifestation of the Hrusso (Aka) tribe’s rich cultural legacy, deeply embedded in tradition, faith, and natural harmony,” the Governor stated.
He concluded with a wish: “May the Sarok Festival bring joy, harmony, and renewed hope to all, further enriching the cultural tapestry of our esteemed state,” he expressed in his message.
