Patna, Sep 3 (NationPress) In the lead-up to the Bihar Assembly elections, the political landscape has become increasingly charged following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's condemnation of alleged offensive comments directed at his mother by Congress workers during the recently concluded 'Voter Adhikar Yatra,' which was spearheaded by the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, along with RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav. In response to the Prime Minister's remarks, Tejashwi Yadav emphasized that a mother is a universally revered figure.
The situation has escalated further, with the BJP declaring a 'Bihar Bandh' on Thursday in response.
“A mother is a mother, regardless of whose mother she is. Even those without voices have a mother. Using abusive language against anyone’s mother is not part of our sanskaar,” Tejashwi remarked while speaking to the media in Patna.
Tejashwi Yadav continued, “The Prime Minister himself campaigned for Revanna. During that time, derogatory remarks were made about a girlfriend worth Rs 50 crore. He has also used harsh language against Congress leader Sonia Gandhi and questioned Nitish Kumar’s DNA.”
The RJD leader went on to claim that BJP representatives, including MLAs, had hurled disrespectful comments against him and his family within the Assembly.
“Even the individual who made inappropriate comments about our spokesperson, Sarika Paswan, was rewarded by the BJP when they welcomed him into the party. Why was the Prime Minister mute then? Where was he?,” Tejashwi questioned.
Tejashwi Yadav asserted that the citizens of Bihar and the nation are observing and comprehending everything, indicating that hypocritical and corrupted politics will no longer suffice.
He further accused the BJP of instigating shutdowns out of fear of losing public backing.
“The government is shutting down Bihar, and whenever the Prime Minister arrives, schools are closed automatically. The BJP is frightened because the populace has extended considerable support to us during the 'Voter Adhikar Yatra,'” he stated.
Tejashwi’s rebuttal occurs amidst an intensifying exchange of words between the NDA and the Opposition Bloc, with the controversy surrounding the “mother” remark now taking center stage in the Bihar election narrative.
