Bhopal, July 2 (NationPress) A private van transporting schoolchildren met with a collision against a road divider amid intense rainfall in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, early on Wednesday. Thankfully, the children emerged unscathed and were assisted out of the vehicle by nearby passersby.
The mishap took place at the Shubhash Nagar overbridge while the van was en route to school.
In response to the incident, local police promptly arrived at the scene, ensuring the safe return of the children to their homes.
Bhopal and its neighboring districts, including Sehore, Raisen, Vidisha, and more, have been experiencing significant rainfall since the early hours of the day.
Heavy downpours were also reported in districts like Betul, Sheopur, Shivpuri, Chhindwara, Mandla, Narsinghpur, Umaria, Rewa, Sidhi, Raisen, and others over the last 24 hours, as per the report from the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The IMD has forecasted moderate to heavy rainfall in various areas of the state, such as Bhopal, Ujjain, Anuppur, Mauganj, Rewa, Maihar, Panna, Satna, Shivpuri, Shahdol, Vidisha, Raisen, Niwari, and Rajgarh within the next 24 hours.
A yellow alert has been issued for the districts of Jabalpur, Gwalior, and Indore.

The day temperature in Bhopal on Tuesday was recorded at 29.4 degrees Celsius, while the night temperature was noted to be 24.2 degrees Celsius, as reported by the IMD on Wednesday morning.
