New Delhi, Nov 14 (NationPress) As trends indicate that the NDA is leading in the Bihar elections, Union Minister Giriraj Singh expressed confidence on Friday that a win in the state is inevitable, and now the attention turns to West Bengal.
In a conversation with IANS, Giriraj Singh remarked: "From the very beginning of the Bihar elections, I have maintained that an NDA-led government will emerge, and the current trends confirm this. The results will be declared shortly, and I firmly believe that Bihar’s victory is assured for us. Now, it is Bengal’s moment to shine."
He further added, "As we progress, the trends for the NDA will become increasingly robust, showcasing a commendable strike rate as well."
BJP leader Rohan Gupta also conveyed optimism about their prospects, stating: "These trends are a reflection of the real situation on the ground, and I am confident that this victory stems from our performance. For the first time in Indian politics, all parties must realize that voters will not support them without tangible achievements; hard work is crucial. Elections cannot be won through mere rhetoric or superficial campaigning."
Another party member, Rishav Tiwary, noted: "The populace of Bihar has made it evident that one government symbolizes development while the other signifies destruction. In making their choice, they have opted for the government that fosters progress."
Additionally, BJP leader Syed Zafar Islam stated: "The initial trends are clearly indicating that once again, an NDA government is likely to be formed."
BJP MP Arun Singh emphasized: "A significant victory for the NDA is on the horizon. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar in Bihar, the initiatives aimed at supporting the poor and farmers, along with establishing a robust legal framework, have produced positive outcomes."
The counting for all 243 Assembly seats commenced at 8 a.m., beginning with postal ballots, followed by the counting of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) votes from 8:30 a.m., all under stringent multi-tier security measures throughout the state.
Candidates from both political alliances expressed confidence in their electoral performance. NDA leaders affirmed that the citizens of Bihar have shown confidence in Prime Minister Modi’s promises and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s commitment to the state's development.
The counting process is being managed by 243 Returning Officers along with an equivalent number of Counting Observers appointed by the Election Commission.
More than 18,000 counting agents representing various candidates are present at the centers to ensure the process is closely monitored.
Over 70 crore voters participated in the election to determine the fate of both the ruling NDA and the Mahagathbandhan, with polling occurring in two phases on November 6 and 11.
In the current Assembly, the NDA holds 131 seats, comprised of 80 from the BJP, 45 from the JD-U, four from the HAM-S, and two independents. The opposition bloc controls 111 seats, including 77 from the RJD, 19 from the Congress, 11 from the CPI-ML, and two each from the CPI-M and CPI.
