Could Tamil Superstar Vijay's 51st Birthday Spark a Political Shift?

Chennai, June 22 (NationPress) Tamil superstar and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president Vijay celebrated his 51st birthday on Sunday, marking the occasion with a mix of cinematic excitement, political engagements, and community initiatives across Tamil Nadu.

Among those sending their regards was BJP leader and former Telangana Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, who crafted a cleverly worded message filled with nods to Vijay’s filmography.

Her note went beyond a simple birthday greeting; it subtly included a political invitation for the actor to join the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and combat “evil forces” in the upcoming Assembly elections.

“I convey my warmest birthday wishes to the ‘Tamizhan–Jananayakan’ brother Vijay, who began his journey with Naalaiya Theerpu, captured hearts as Azhagiya Tamil Magan, portrayed sisterly devotion in Thirupachchi, embodied maternal affection in Sivakasi, battled terrorism in Thuppakki, and showcased patriotism. He took a stand against dynastic politics in Varisu, overcame challenges like Sura, and triumphed like Ghilli,” she wrote.

“I trust he will keep on the path of Pudhiya Geethai—embracing righteousness and opposing malevolence.” Actress Nayanthara, a beloved co-star of Vijay, also expressed her wishes on social media platform X.

Commemorating the occasion, KVN Productions revealed the teaser for Vijay’s eagerly awaited film Jana Nayagan at midnight.

Titled The First Roar, the teaser presents Vijay in an imposing silhouette, igniting excitement among fans.

With Vijay anticipated to fully transition into politics, Jana Nayagan is perceived as his cinematic farewell. “A lion is always a lion, and his first roar is coming,” read the film’s promotional tagline, which swiftly gained traction online.

Born Joseph Vijay Chandrasekhar on June 22, 1974, in Chennai, Vijay is the son of filmmaker S.A. Chandrasekhar and playback singer Shobha Chandrasekhar. He made his acting debut at 18 in Naalaiya Theerpu and has since ascended to become one of Tamil cinema’s most prominent stars—earning the title “Thalapathy” (commander) for his immense popularity and mass appeal.

Beyond cinema, Vijay’s political organization, TVK, commemorated his birthday with a range of welfare initiatives.

In Ambattur, party general secretary N. Anand supervised a distribution initiative that included sewing machines, three-wheelers for differently-abled individuals, cooking essentials, computers, and household kits.

In a press release, the party accused local DMK officials, including chairman Rajavelu and his son Prabhakaran, of vandalizing banners and attacking TVK supporters and Vijay fans.

“The state government and local law enforcement have ignored this. This inaction is troubling,” stated TVK, demanding prompt legal proceedings and highlighting increasing political intolerance.
