Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 29 (NationPress) K. C. Venugopal, MP and AICC General Secretary (Organisation), expressed on Saturday that the Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan along with the state administration is functioning as a shield to conceal corruption linked to the construction of national highways.
On the topic of the labour code, Venugopal emphasized that despite the CPI(M)'s opposition to the code, there should be some authenticity to their resistance.
"It is the Communist-led government in Kerala that drafted the controversial anti-worker labour code. Whose interests are they really serving?" he questioned.
He further lambasted the state government for its failure to address safety violations and standards during national highway construction, accusing them of ignoring significant corruption in these projects.
"The state administration is actively hiding the extensive corruption associated with national highway construction," Venugopal stated.
Several Congress leaders in Kerala have persistently criticized CM Vijayan, claiming he is intimidated by the Union government due to ongoing investigations involving his daughter.
In response to YouTuber Dhruv Rathee's allegations of substantial fraud and malpractice during the Bihar elections, he stated that the Election Commission of India acted as an accomplice to ensure the BJP's success.
"The voting rights of citizens have been trampled upon, allowing the affluent to secure victories. Money was transferred to people's accounts just days before the elections in Bihar - a clear violation of democratic principles. The NDA's triumph in Bihar was achieved through the erosion of democratic standards," he remarked.
"What transpired in Bihar signifies an outright attack on democracy," Venugopal noted on X, asserting that the party will resist any efforts to normalize such practices.
Additionally, Venugopal pointed out that the Congress has gathered five crore signatures against the biased actions of the Election Commission, which will be showcased at a rally in Delhi on December 14.
