New Delhi, Jan 18 (NationPress) A wanted shooter linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang has been detained in New Delhi concerning multiple cases of extortion, armed assaults, and the illegal supply of weapons in Rajasthan, as reported by officials on Sunday.
This arrest signifies a crucial advancement in the ongoing efforts to dismantle organized crime networks operating across various states.
The operation was executed by the Crime Branch of the Delhi Police, in close collaboration with the Rajasthan Police, on January 16.
Authorities indicate that a unit from the Anti-Gangster Squad of the Crime Branch apprehended a shooter from the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang, identified as Pardeep Sharma alias Golu, approximately 23 years old and originally from Agra, Uttar Pradesh.
The suspect was taken into custody in relation to an FIR filed on December 31 of the previous year, under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Rai Singh Nagar Police Station in Ganganagar, Rajasthan.
Police believe he has direct connections to crimes executed by his gang associates.
In March 2025, members of the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang allegedly demanded an extortion sum of Rs 4 crore from a businessman in the Jawahar Nagar area of Ganganagar, Rajasthan.
When the businessman declined to pay, the gang purportedly assigned shooter Golu to open fire at the complainant's home as a form of intimidation.
Later, in May 2025, Golu and his associates reportedly fired shots at the businessman.
An FIR related to this incident was lodged under appropriate sections of the BNS at the Jawahar Nagar Police Station in Rajasthan, resulting in Golu and his associates being arrested by the Rajasthan Police.
Notably, after securing bail, the accused allegedly resumed his criminal activities, supplying arms and ammunition to other gang members.
Authorities noted that subsequently, four gang members were arrested, possessing a substantial amount of arms and ammunition.
In this case, another FIR was filed, identifying Golu as the source of the recovered weapons.
Officials revealed that due to a recent uptick in incidents of organized crime, extortion, armed assaults, and illegal firearm use in Delhi and nearby areas, the Crime Branch has heightened its efforts to track down active criminals.
The Anti-Gangster Squad was specifically formed to monitor and identify criminals operating within Delhi and its neighboring regions.
A dedicated team of AGS led by Inspector Krishan Kumar, along with Sub-Inspectors Agam Prasad, Mukesh Kumar, Naveen, and Rajbir, Assistant Sub-Inspector Gobind, and Head Constables Pappu and Anoop, was established.
This team operated under the close supervision of ACP Bhagwati Prasad and the overall guidance of DCP Crime Branch Harsh Indora, IPS, to gather intelligence on the accused's whereabouts.
On January 16, acting on precise information and in conjunction with the Rajasthan Police, a raid was conducted in the Uttam Nagar area of Delhi, resulting in the apprehension of Golu.
Following rigorous interrogation, his involvement in the criminal cases was deemed suspicious, after which the Rajasthan Police took him into custody for further investigation.
Authorities confirmed that Golu hails from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, and was residing in Uttam Nagar, Delhi. He had previously participated in a shooting incident in Ganganagar, Rajasthan, where he and his associates allegedly fired upon businessmen under the orders of the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang.
Officials stated he remains in contact with the gang and continues to be an active member in the Rajasthan region.
