Bhopal, Nov 26 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, commemorated the significant contributions made by the former Union Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on the occasion of his 150th birth anniversary.
On this day, the Chief Minister inaugurated the 'Unity March' in Indore and actively participated in the celebrations.
After paying his respects at Patel's statue located near the Khajrana temple in Indore, CM Yadav took part in a vibrant roadshow.
He was accompanied by senior BJP leader and Urban Affairs Minister Kailash Vijayavargiya, along with Water Minister Tulsiram Silawat and other dignitaries.
CM Yadav honored Patel for his role in strengthening India's unity.
He remarked, "The 'Iron Man' dedicated his life selflessly for the citizens of this nation. Despite facing numerous challenges, he remained steadfast and laid a robust foundation for our country," the Chief Minister declared.
He continued, "Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was instrumental in shaping our administrative services, which include the IAS, IPS, and UPSC. His extraordinary character and insight helped establish a strong framework for our nation. We take immense pride in him, and the whole country remembers his invaluable contributions."
During his speech, CM Yadav criticized the previous Congress governments for failing to honor legendary leaders.
He expressed, "Under Congress, only Jawaharlal Nehru and his family were celebrated, while many heroic leaders who fought for India's freedom were overlooked. This will never be forgotten by the people of India. We cherish Sardar Patel, who prioritized our nation above all else."
Later, the Chief Minister engaged in a tree-planting initiative as part of the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign at the Khajrana Temple.
He also kicked off the 'Unity March' which began in Maharashtra and is set to continue to Gujarat.
