New Delhi, Aug 14 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, emphatically dismissed claims from the Opposition regarding the closure of 29,000 schools, stating that the state's education framework is actually being fortified through various integration and modernization schemes.

During his address in the Assembly, CM Adityanath elaborated that schools with fewer than 50 students within a one-kilometer radius are being consolidated under a “school pairing” initiative to form integrated campuses boasting enhanced infrastructure.

“Our objective is to achieve a 22:1 student-teacher ratio and elevate the quality of education,” he emphasized.

Reflecting on the conditions before 2017, CM Adityanath noted that 1.56 lakh basic and affiliated schools suffered from inadequate infrastructure, an uneven student-teacher ratio, and the highest dropout rates nationwide.

Through initiatives like 'School Chalo Abhiyan' and 'Operation Kayakalp', community members and public representatives have been motivated to adopt schools, leading to upgrades such as smart classrooms, digital libraries, solar power installations, playgrounds, and improved seating arrangements. Moreover, students now receive two uniforms, bags, books, shoes, and socks at no cost.

Introduction of Bal Vatika and pre-primary classes for children aged 3–6 years is underway, along with a Rs 100 crore CM Nutrition Mission package aimed at combating malnutrition and anemia among children. Since 2017, Uttar Pradesh has welcomed 40 lakh new school enrollments and witnessed a significant decline in dropout rates.

CM Adityanath also highlighted advancements in higher and technical education, featuring courses in AI, Robotics, and Space Technology at 150 government ITIs, the establishment of 71 new government colleges, and the renovation of 75-year-old inter colleges.

Regarding employment, CM Adityanath announced that 8.5 lakh jobs have been created since 2017, benefiting 1.75 lakh women, which has increased female workforce participation from 13.5 percent to 35 percent and reduced unemployment from 19 percent to 3 percent.

With the CM YUVA initiative, 1.65 crore youth have secured jobs, while Uttar Pradesh now boasts 7,200 startups and 50 incubators.

CM Adityanath further added, "In the police sector, 62,200 new personnel have been recruited. The training capacity has surged from 3,000 to 60,000, and residential facilities have been modernized from dilapidated barracks to high-rise complexes."

Cybercrime, a significant challenge, is being addressed with one dedicated cyber police station in each of the 75 districts, compared to just one in Gautam Buddha Nagar prior to 2017.

A specialized cyber headquarters is in the works, and cyber help desks are now operational in every police station across the state.
