New Delhi, May 21 (NationPress) The Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, on Wednesday, paid a touching tribute to his father and former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on the 34th anniversary of his passing.
In a heartfelt message on X, Rahul Gandhi wrote, "Papa, your memories guide me at every step. My commitment is to realize your unfulfilled dreams -- and I will surely achieve them."
He accompanied the message with a cherished photo of himself and his father.
Rajiv Gandhi, who held the office of India's Prime Minister from 1984 to 1989, came into power following the assassination of his mother, the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. He made history as the youngest Prime Minister in India at the age of 40.
Rajiv served until the 1989 general elections and later took on the role of Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha. He resigned in December 1990, merely six months before he tragically lost his life in a terrorist attack.
