Kolkata, Dec 2 (NationPress) Vaibhav Suryavanshi, aged 14, has achieved the remarkable feat of becoming the youngest centurion in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy during a match against Maharashtra at the Edens Garden on Tuesday.

Representing Bihar, Suryavanshi scored an impressive 108 runs off only 61 balls, which included seven fours and as many sixes, marking him as the youngest player ever to score a century in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

The young batter, who had previously scored modest totals of 14, 13, and 5, managed to get his first fifty of the tournament in just 34 balls before reaching the milestone of three figures.

This accomplishment was Suryavanshi's third century in merely his 16th professional T20 match, and notably, it is the slowest century he has recorded, taking 58 balls to reach three figures.

With Suryavanshi's stellar century, Bihar posted a total of 176/3, while Maharashtra was at 174-7 at the time of this report.

Earlier this year, Suryavanshi made headlines as the youngest player to debut in the IPL at just 14 years and 23 days, playing against the Lucknow Super Giants. He stunned everyone nine days later by becoming the youngest centurion in the league's history with a blistering 35-ball century against the Gujarat Titans, which is also recognized as the fastest IPL century by an Indian and the second-fastest overall, trailing only behind Chris Gayle.

His explosive innings of 143 in a match earlier in the series stands as the fastest century ever in U19 men's ODIs, making him the youngest player to achieve this record in the format's history.

Additionally, he scored a century against the Australia U19 team in a Youth Test match in Brisbane last month. Most recently, he delivered a jaw-dropping performance in the Rising Stars Asia Cup, scoring 144 off 42 balls for India A against the UAE, hitting 11 fours and 15 sixes.

His astounding 32-ball century made him the youngest player to score a century for any national representative side at the senior level, shattering a record that has stood for two decades.
