New Delhi, Dec 11 (NationPress) Mohamed Salah's second-half penalty helped secure their unblemished record in the Champions League this season, leading to a 1-0 victory against Girona away from home.

The Egyptian star's 63rd-minute penalty at Estadi Montilivi marked the sixth win out of six for Arne Slot's squad, who currently sit atop the standings.

Having already secured a place in the knockout stages, this triumph places the Reds on the verge of a guaranteed top-eight finish, allowing them to advance directly to the last 16 and avoid the play-offs.

Meanwhile, an impressive display by Jamal Musiala and a brace from Michael Olise propelled Bayern to a commanding 5-1 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk, marking their first away win of the league phase.

Vinicius Junior found the net ten minutes after the break and later assisted Jude Bellingham, yet Ademola Lookman equalized for Atalanta with a shot just inside the right post with 25 minutes remaining. In another showdown, Nordi Mukiele scored a last-minute goal to help Leverkusen defeat Inter Milan 1-0, maintaining their perfect home record. Ross Barkley's late deflected shot earned Aston Villa their fourth victory of the league phase. The visitors dominated early on, taking the lead when John McGinn scored from Ollie Watkins's cushioned header, although Leipzig equalized when Loïs Openda capitalized on a defensive error from Villa.
