Coimbatore, July 14 (NationPress) Bengaluru's Rohaan Madesh of Peregrine Racing showcased an exceptional performance to secure the top position in the Senior Max category during the inaugural round of the MECO-FMSCI National Karting Championship Rotax Max Classes held at the CoASTT circuit.
Also excelling in their respective categories were three drivers from the MSPORT team: Eshanth Vengatesan from Chennai, who clinched victory in the Junior Max, Rivaan Dev Preetam, also from Chennai, winning the Mini Max, and Shiv Neel from Coimbatore, who achieved a remarkable double by winning both the Pre-Finals and Finals in the Micro Max.
In the Finals, Rohaan Madesh faced a fierce challenge from Aahil Mecklai of Rayo Racing, who finished second, while Bengaluru’s Rishon Rajeev from Birel Art India took third place. Rohaan's earlier victory in the Pre-Finals enabled him to complete a stunning double, and notably, the Senior Max category featured Asia's largest grid of 34 drivers.
In another thrilling race, Eshanth Vengatesan capitalized on a mid-race collision between Pune’s Arafath Sheikh of Crest Motorsports and Kiaan Shah from Mumbai, both of whom had been leading. This incident allowed Vengatesan to surge from P3 to P1, ultimately winning ahead of Sheikh, while Bengaluru's Rishik Rohit Reddy (MSPORT) showcased an impressive recovery from 16th on the grid to finish fourth after a five-second penalty.
Rivaan Dev Preetam rebounded from a disappointing Pre-Final to dominate the Mini Max Finals, taking the lead on the first lap and securing victory. Yatharth Gaur from Faridabad, who won the Pre-Finals, finished second, followed by Mumbai’s Hamza Balasinorwala from Crest Motorsports.
Local hero Shiv Neel had a remarkable start, easily winning the Micro Max Finals against fellow Bengaluru racers and Peregrine Racing teammates, Zidaan Arshaan Anees and Shiv Thummala, after a competitive mid-grid battle. Shiv Neel completed his double by winning the eventful Pre-Finals, which was shortened to nine laps due to incidents, with Thummala receiving a 12-second penalty for exceeding track limits.
