New Delhi, July 26 (NationPress) West Indies cricket legend Dwayne Bravo has praised the World Championship of Legends (WCL), describing his inaugural experience in the tournament as both enjoyable and full of potential.
"It's a fantastic experience; it's a remarkable tournament," Bravo shared with IANS. "I see great potential for it to expand and flourish in the coming years. Although I haven't played cricket for over a year since my retirement, reconnecting with everyone has been wonderful. I'm pleased I chose to participate."
The ex-Chennai Super Kings all-rounder expressed his fondness for his relationship with West Indies Champions team owner Ajay Sethi, calling it a highlight of the tournament.
"This was my first opportunity to meet the owner, and he is a genuinely nice individual—humble and enthusiastic about his sport," Bravo noted. "I hope our friendship extends beyond cricket. I also met his lovely family, and I aim to make him proud."
Ajay reciprocated Bravo's sentiments, recalling their instant camaraderie. "When I met Bravo, it felt like we had known each other for centuries. He’s incredibly cool, friendly, and warm. There are people I’ve known for two decades, yet I still don’t truly know them—that's the difference with someone like Bravo," he remarked. The WCL also served as a nostalgic reunion for former CSK teammates.
“Recently, we celebrated a birthday with Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina, and Bravo. It was fantastic to gather these guys. Raina and Bhajji are like brothers to me,” Ajay reflected. Discussing his IPL journey, Bravo acknowledged the league’s transformative impact on contemporary cricket.
"The IPL has not only benefited me; it has aided every cricketer in today’s game—both financially and in skill development. I take pride in having played for two of the most successful franchises and being recognized as one of the best."
Regarding the ongoing India-England Test series, Bravo candidly stated: “No, I haven’t watched it. I just keep up with the updates on Cricinfo.”
From rekindling old friendships to building new ones, the WCL has offered Bravo more than just cricket—it has been a revival of the camaraderie and spirit of the game he cherishes.
