China's victory was secured by goals from Ying Zhang (19', 30') and Xu Wenyu (53'), while Sunelita Toppo (9') and Rujuta Dadaso Pisal (38') scored for India.
This match marked the end of the season, with Netherlands finishing first, Argentina in second place, and Belgium taking third. China ended up fourth, while India finished at the bottom and will face relegation, needing to compete in the FIH Nations Cup to regain their spot in the esteemed FIH Pro League.
China started strong with an early penalty corner, but India responded in the 9th minute with a beautiful goal from Sunelita Toppo after a precise pass from Neha Goyal. Although China threatened to equalize shortly after, India's defense held firm.
However, in the 18th minute, a penalty corner awarded to China resulted in a goal by Ying Zhang after a review overturned an Indian appeal. Zhang struck again later in the second quarter, putting China ahead.
India found their rhythm in the 37th minute, scoring their first penalty corner after a successful referral. Navneet Kaur executed a clever play, allowing Rujuta to level the score. India’s performance was commendable, as they applied pressure and created scoring chances.
In the final quarter, China won another penalty corner, which Bichu Devi, India’s goalie, defended well. Yet, Xu Wenyu converted a penalty corner in the 53rd minute, sealing the win for China. India's vulnerability to conceding penalty corners was evident in both matches against China.
