This season features a mix of established champions and fresh talent, and notably, it marks the league's inaugural edition in India—a global chess hub teeming with enthusiastic fans—running from December 13-24.
At the helm of the Pipers for this season are R Praggnanandhaa, the previous season's Player of the Season, and Hou Yifan, the reigning World No.1 female player, both of whom have been retained by the franchise due to their outstanding performances last season.
