New Delhi, Nov 5 (NationPress) India’s captain Harmanpreet Kaur marked her World Cup triumph in an extraordinary manner by having the trophy tattooed on her arms. Alongside this, she also had ‘2025’ and ‘52’ tattooed, representing the year of their victory and the winning margin.
“Forever etched in my skin and my heart. I’ve waited for you since Day 1, and now I will see you every morning and be grateful,” she shared in her Instagram post alongside a snapshot of her new tattoo.
As India claimed their first ODI World Cup trophy, Kaur made history by becoming the first female cricketer to lead the Women in Blue to triumph at an ICC tournament, crowning a new champion after 25 years.
Elated with the win, Kaur offered motivational words for aspiring players aiming to reach the pinnacle of world cricket and fulfill their dream of winning a World Cup.
In a video released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the victorious skipper expressed, “I was dreaming about the moment I could wear this blue jersey. This means a lot to me, as a young girl who didn’t know much about women’s cricket but still dreamed of bringing change to our country.”
“This demonstrates that you should never cease dreaming. Your destiny could lead you to unexpected places. Never question how or when things will happen; just believe they will. That belief is what made this possible,” she further emphasized.
The Women in Blue, who arrived here on Tuesday evening, are scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday.
