Sri Lanka reached 216/7 at tea on Day 3 of the second Test at the Sinhalese Sports Club, Colombo on 25 August, still trailing India by 287 runs after a session of stubborn lower-order resistance. India picked up three wickets in the second session to tighten their stranglehold on the match, with the hosts requiring significant effort to avoid a follow-on.

Key Wickets in the Session

Sri Lanka resumed at 131/4 after a 30-minute rain interruption, with Pasindu Sooriyabandara and Dhananjaya de Silva at the crease. India turned immediately to spin, with Manav Suthar operating from one end under overcast skies.

Jadeja bowled a disciplined spell of 15 overs for 27 runs and one wicket. Suthar finished with two wickets, while Prasidh Krishna remained India's most successful bowler with three wickets to his name.
