India's Junior Men's Hockey Team Dominates with a 16-0 Victory Against Chinese Taipei at the Asia Cup

Muscat (Oman), Nov 30 (NationPress) The Indian Junior Men's Hockey Team displayed their exceptional skills at the Men's Junior Asia Cup, triumphing over Chinese Taipei with a resounding score of 16-0 in their pool A clash on Saturday.

Dilraj Singh (17', 40', 45', 57') was the standout performer, netting four impressive goals, while the Indian defense, led by goalkeepers Bikramjit Singh and Prince Deep Singh, ensured a shutout.

Following their narrow 3-2 victory against the formidable Japan in their previous pool A match, India launched an aggressive attack from the outset, resulting in an early advantage. Just seven minutes into the match, the forwards earned a penalty corner, expertly converted by Yogember Rawat. This early strike provided India with the momentum needed for a high-scoring encounter.

While the first quarter concluded without any further goals, the Indian team displayed their offensive prowess in the second quarter, scoring four times. The electrifying forward Dilraj Singh, who had recently shone in the Sultan of Johor Cup, was pivotal in the team's offensive strategy against Chinese Taipei, scoring the second goal in the 17th minute. Sourabh Anand Kushwaha (20', 28') added two goals, while Rosan Kujur (23') contributed to the team’s 5-0 lead by halftime.

India continued to dismantle the defense of Chinese Taipei with a flurry of goals in the third quarter. The team played with speed and utilized short passes to create openings inside the circle. Just one minute into the third quarter, Talem Priyobarta scored from a penalty corner, followed by Rosan Kujur, who netted his second in the 32nd minute, extending India's lead to a commanding 7-0.

Arshdeep Singh joined the scoring spree in the 37th minute with a penalty corner goal, followed by a penalty stroke from Sharda Nand Tiwari in the 39th minute, pushing India’s lead to 9-0. The team scored an additional four goals in this quarter, with Dilraj Singh (40', 45') and Rosan Kujur (42') each completing their hat tricks, while Arshdeep Singh added another in the 44th minute, bringing the score to a staggering 13-0 before the final quarter.

The last 15 minutes were a mere formality as the strikers added three more goals, culminating in an impressive 16-0 victory. The stylish forward Araijeet Singh Hundal scored in the 54th minute, followed by Dilraj Singh netting his fourth in the 57th minute. Sourabh Anand also completed his hat trick with a field goal in the 58th minute. This dominant win ensured that India maintained the top position in the points table with nine points in pool A.

India's next challenge will be against Korea on December 1.
