New Delhi, July 19 (NationPress) With the second ODI against England approaching at Lord's, seasoned bowler Jhulan Goswami is optimistic about the Harmanpreet Kaur-led squad achieving a clean sweep of the 50-over series at 3-0, following their initial win by four wickets in Southampton.
The visiting team recently showcased their skill by clinching their first-ever T20I series against England with a score of 4-2 last week.
Before the second ODI, Harmanpreet and Jemimah Rodrigues connected with the former pacer via video call from Lord's, reminiscing about their shared experiences at this iconic venue.
"It's wonderful to see you again. Can you guess our location?" Harmanpreet and Jemimah chimed together in a video shared by BCCI Women on X.
"We miss you Jhulu di," Jemimah expressed.
"I miss you too! I wish I could watch the game from the stands," Jhulan replied.
Jemimah quickly added, "Not just watching, but playing alongside us, Jhulu di," which drew laughter from the group.
Continuing their chat, the Indian captain remarked, "Tomorrow we will miss your magical spell at Lord's."
Jhulan responded, "I will miss you both. Those were great memories. We achieved a 3-0 victory for the first time in England. I hope you can replicate that. You have fantastic momentum on your side!"
Goswami is celebrated as one of India’s top fast bowlers and concluded her distinguished career at Lord’s in September 2022, where she took two wickets in a victorious ODI against England, securing a 3-0 series win on English soil.
With the recent momentum from their historic T20I series victory and the opening ODI win, the touring team has a solid chance to echo the heroics of 2022.
The second ODI is scheduled to take place at Lord’s on Saturday.
