New Delhi, Oct 23 (NationPress) The esteemed Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is anticipated to participate in Saurashtra's forthcoming Ranji Trophy clash against Madhya Pradesh, set to commence this Saturday at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot.
This seasoned player, who was not included in India's ODI roster currently competing in Australia, has expressed his readiness to represent Saurashtra in this first-class match as he prepares for the upcoming Test series against South Africa, as reported by Cricbuzz.
The 36-year-old, who holds the title of top-ranked Test all-rounder, last participated in a Ranji Trophy match against Assam during the previous season. He played in two matches that year, achieving Player of the Match accolades against Delhi with an impressive all-around contribution (38 runs, five wickets for 66 runs, and seven wickets for 38 runs).
Throughout his 47 Ranji Trophy appearances for Saurashtra, he has amassed 3,456 runs at an average of 57.60 and secured 208 wickets at an average of 21.25.
In their inaugural match of the 2025/26 Ranji season, Jaydev Unadkat-led Saurashtra narrowly triumphed over Karnataka due to a slim first-innings lead, with Dharmendra Jadeja standing out by achieving a remarkable 10-wicket haul.
Following his absence from the Australian ODIs, Jadeja remarked, "It’s positive that they explained the reason for my exclusion. I'm pleased with that. However, whenever I get my next opportunity, I'll strive to replicate my past performances.
"If I get a chance in the World Cup and perform well in the upcoming ODIs, it will be beneficial for Indian cricket. Winning a World Cup is a shared aspiration. We narrowly missed it last time, so we aim to rectify that next time."
Jadeja's most recent appearance was in the two home Tests against the West Indies earlier this month, where he scored an impressive 104 not out in the first Test in Ahmedabad and claimed eight wickets in a 2-0 series victory.
