New Delhi, Dec 2 (NationPress) Mahipal Singh hailing from Tamil Nadu has clinched the championship title at The Chennai Diamonds 2nd Chennai Open Tenpin Bowling Championships, which wrapped up at Let’s Bowl, Chennai. The finals in the Open Division were contested in a challenging leader format, where the second seed, Benigopal L., emerged victorious in the first game against the top seed, D. Mahipal Singh (208-194), necessitating a decisive second game.
In the crucial second game, Mahipal initiated his play with three consecutive strikes, finishing with a score of 200 against Benigopal's 168, thus securing the championship.
Previously, during the stepladder round's initial match, third-seeded Anand Babu from Tamil Nadu triumphed over fourth-seeded Naveen Siddam from Telangana (222–183). In the semifinals, Benigopal Lahoti from West Bengal achieved a convincing victory over Anand Babu ( 223-91).
In the Doubles division, the duo of Parvez Ahmed and Kishan R. from Karnataka won the Cliffhanger Finals, scoring 737 pins, narrowly defeating Gurunathan and Soban D. from Tamil Nadu, who scored 735 pins.
